Note or Chord?

Some of us are notes.
Some of us are chords.
Youdig?

Some of us are at our best when we are sounding our one note – the one note we love MOST, the note that we are inexorably, profoundly, REPEATEDLY drawn to.

And when we let go
and go ALL IN
and sound that note…
we are happy.

The note is clear, pristine, and sometimes others pause with an inexplicable desire to remain, just a bit, in the presence of its elegant simplicity, its clarity, its other-worldly vibration.

We are happy that others sometimes listen, but we don’t care much because we’ve discovered that being consumed by our one note is joy unspeakable in and of itself.

BUT ALSO

Some of us are chords. It’s as if we instinctively know which sounds to place together — this one here, now add that one there, OOOOOO pull in this one.

Then we let go,
and we go ALL IN
and we SOUND THAT CHORD…
and we are happy.

The chord is stirring and beautiful and others sometimes stop in their tracks, catch their breath and wait --  they want to hear it sound again.

We are happy when they stop to listen, but we can’t slow down for that – for our joy unspeakable is in sounding the chord.

Are you a note?
Or a chord?

Either way,
your joy unspeakable
resides in the sounding of it.
